چگونگی مواجهه نغمه عزیز با بیماری فرزندش

Naghmeh has got 3 children. 2 of them are twins. her son who is one of the twins was born with Down syndrome. when he was born Naghmeh was not a Christian believer. She and her husband went through a difficult time accepting the condition of their son, not being aware of God’s presence in their lives. She was going through a lot of pain and sorrow not knowing how she can bring her son up. They were not even able to share with their family about the situation they were facing.

As their son was growing up, he faced other health issues too such as heart-related problems, diabetes, and thyroid disorder. His additional health issues added to the sorrows of his parents.

After Naghmeh became a believer, she attended a lady’s meeting where they were asked to write down who are the people they can’t forgive in their lives. She felt she was not able to forgive God. she thought she had to blame God for what she was facing. On the other hand, she was thinking it was because of her sins that God has punished her. One day when she was reading John chapter 9 about the healing of the blind man, she realized that Jesus told the disciples that the reason he was born blind was so that God would be glorified in his healing. this passage talked to her heart knowing that God can be glorified in her son’s life despite his health issues.

The first healing point in her and her husband’s life was that with God’s help they were able to accept their son’s condition. they realized that his illness is nothing dangerous or something to be ashamed of.

After accepting him as he was, there were able to help him to develop his God-given talents. he started improving academically. He started speaking English fluently and he now knows how to sing many worship songs. It was at this point that Naghmeh started feeling that God considered her and her husband worthy of taking care of their son. They were grateful to God.

She confesses that there have been times when she was worried about her son’s future, but God talked to her heart telling her not to worry as he was going to lift her son up and will perform his miracles in his life. The more they have spent time with God, the more they have experienced his healing and peace in their hearts regarding the situation.
She is now truly grateful to God that he has granted them this amazing son. She believes God will do mighty works in his life.

She is encouraging those parents who have children with some health disorder to know that if they have Jesus in their lives, he will lift their children up and will be glorified in their lives.
